One of the tenets of writing is to stay simple and to the point.
That’s what I look for in a photograph, too.
I like pictures that tell a story quickly. I strive to frame up images that are generally simple, graphic, and to the point.
My style as a photographer is to go find the image, rather than creating pictures in a studio. (with rare exceptions)
The great David Bailey said, “Photography is a means by which we learn to see the ordinary.”
That’s certainly true with my images. Doors, walls, and windows. Benches, beaches, and skies. All pretty ordinary. Perhaps I’ve added a little something to make them less so.
